Ready to build something amazing?
I'd love to connect with you. Say hi and tell me what you're building.
Everything's smooth until it isn't. A user tries to send a larger amount, only to meet a limit they didn't know existed. A message appears:
“Upgrade to Tier 2 to increase your transaction and account limits.”
This was the pivotal moment I had to design not as a dead end, but as a moment of empowerment.
Make the KYC upgrade feel less like red tape and more like a natural part of the user's growth journey.
Users enter or confirm their full name and date of birth, both fields validated instantly. The form is intentionally short, with clear inline feedback to reassure the user after every input.
Design intentReduce friction and avoid redundant data entry.
Users choose from a list of government-issued IDs (National ID, Passport, Driver's License, or Voter Card). When capturing the front and back, the interface provides real-time guidance:
If the image isn't clear, users can recapture instantly without losing progress. Subtle success animations mark every milestone.
Design intentMake a traditionally technical step feel approachable and rewarding.
Users take a live selfie for face verification. Clear instructions guide movement (smile for a selfie). Instant feedback, a green tick or a retry prompt, keeps the interaction quick and understandable.
Design intentHumanize the most mechanical step with feedback that feels conversational and encouraging.
A success screen appears with a short animation:
“KYC submitted successfully. Your Tier 2 limits are now active.”
The CTA, Go to Dashboard, leads users back to continue transacting, closing the loop with clarity and satisfaction.
Design intentCreate closure and celebrate progress without unnecessary friction.
Beyond compliance, this KYC flow positioned Okubo as a trustworthy, user-centric platform, one that treats verification as a moment of empowerment, not friction.
